You are King [or Queen], and Perspective is Prince

There is good news! You are supreme ruler, monarch over your own destiny; if only you could keep a hold on your prince. The scenario reminds me of the struggles the Monarchy of the United Kingdom has with its princes. Prince Charles, the son of the reigning Queen Elizabeth II, worried Britain with his diverse love interests before his marriage to Diana Frances Spencer, and then displeased the crown after his marriage to her with outside love interests that eventually resulted in his divorce from Princess Diana. Prince Charles’ youngest son, Prince Harry, has been called a ‘thug’ and a ‘racist’ for his questionable actions and words. It becomes very clear from watching monarchies that it is very important that monarchies keep a tight reign on the prince. However, what is representative of our ‘prince’ in our daily lives? Well, many are … Read entire article »

Book excerpt from: What If God Were One Of Us?-2nd Edition by Adeeb Shabazz

Who are you? Who are you really? Religious leaders tell us we are merely lowly creatures, created by an omnipotent God that lives in a realm we can never truly reach until we die, if we are of the fortunate ones. Scientists tell us we are merely the product of evolution and that our thought and intelligence is completely biologically based: developed in a random evolutionary process that has us where we are today. Many simply choose to accept these basic viewpoints, or variations within those frameworks to explain our existence. However for some, those explanations are seriously lacking, and in our case we seek a more complete definition and meaning for our lives. The Bible-which includes the Jewish Torah or Old Testament, and the Qur’an are the holy books … Read entire article »

In Your Darkest Hour, Be Your Own Light

Have you ever been in a situation where everything that could go wrong seems to have gone wrong? I can recall being illegally evicted from my place of residence in a jurisdiction where, although the authorities admitted the eviction was illegal, made the landlord offer no recourse beyond a night’s stay at a local motel. When you have no home, and no money, fighting the landlord in the court system is all but impossible, for it offers no comfort or shelter for someone who has no place to rest his head. With all of my remaining belongings packed into a car, no home to go to, and no money, I could have responded with despair. However, I realized the choice was mine, and I chose to respond with power and … Read entire article »

Black Consciousness: Devoid of Comedy?

I got into a discussion today on Twitter about Tyler Perry and there was a difference of opinion on the subject of him, his movies, and his effect on the public. Obviously Spike Lee has called out Tyler Perry on Our World With Black Enterprise hosted by Ed Gordon as being a producer of  “coonery and buffoonery”, citing television sitcoms Tyler Perry’s House Of Pain, and Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns. While being a person who is definitely proud of my Black heritage and conscious of positive and negative images in the arts, I cannot assess Tyler Perry’s work overall as being “coonery and buffoonery”. I think of, Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail, and I think of how it portrayed a young prostitute who felt betrayed by the young … Read entire article »

The Sound of Success-Part 2

There are two primordial sounds that can take you to the brink of creation and beyond. Those sounds are “ahh” and “aum”. Think for a minute; if you think about the one act of creation all of us participate in, the climax of the process is often followed by an “ahh”. Likewise, a good back-rub or a relaxing bath will often culminate in a sound that indicates gratitude, more like “ohh”. When considering this and looking at the ancient primordial sounds “aah” and “aum” it makes sense that these sounds can be used in primordial sound meditation. Continue your normal meditation or visioning process, whatever process you use to bring your idea or vision to the forefront of your mind and hold it there. Then incorporate the “ahh” sound in … Read entire article »

The Sound of Success-Part One

“And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.” (Al-Qur’an 15:26). This quote from The Qur’an calls to our attention the importance and sacredness of sound. Everything is energy, from a rock to an animal, a human being, electricity, what we call spirit, and everything in between. The only difference is the levels of consciousness and the levels of vibration of the energy. A rock vibrates at a low frequency, whereas living things vibrate at even higher frequencies, water and gasses vibrate at yet a higher frequency, and non-material substances like electricity and light vibrate and extremely high frequencies. Transformations of energy take place daily as solids are heated up and turn into liquids, and liquids are heated up and turn into gasses, or the reverse. … Read entire article »

Blogpost Review: How to Make Your Mind A Money Magnet

Never before have I done a review on a blog post, and I will not likely do many. However this particular blog post caught my attention. “How To Make Your Mind A Money Magnet” (http://www.metaphysicalteachers.com/WPblog1/2010/03/how-to-make-your-mind-a-money-magnet/) was particularly easy to digest and contained many sound principles. Advice on how to make money and even how to become rich are a dime a dozen now and have been for quite some time, so the mere mention of the title may serve to actually discourage some from taking the article seriously. However, what is found in this article is a practical method of creating an inner “shift” of consciousness so that one can actually take advantage of the mindset that successful people have. The author jumps right to the position that being rich is … Read entire article »

Book Review: The Third Jesus by Deepak Chopra

The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore, is a metaphysical masterpiece, bringing Jesus to the practical minded while still honoring the religious devotee’s viewpoint of Jesus. The book points out the first Jesus, which of course is the historical Jesus who lived over two millenia ago, and whose appearance on this Earth laid the foundation for Christian thought. This first Jesus is based upon the historical data we have about the man called Jesus that lived amongst the people of Palestine 2000 years ago. Dr. Chopra moves on to present the second Jesus, who is the revered Son of God, who the actual religious teachings of Christianity are based upon, and whom Christians revere until this day. This second Jesus is shaped and formed not necessarily from the historical Jesus, but from a list of scriptural … Read entire article »

Knowledge with Wisdom Produces Love

I take my queue today from the 12th letter of the Supreme Alphabet of the Five Percent Nation, which is Love, Hell or Right. In the system of Supreme Mathematics, 1 is seen as knowledge, and 2 is seen as wisdom, and since the 12th letter is “L”, it is said that it is the Knowledge Wisdom degree, or lesson, of the Supreme Alphabet. Many do not like to deal with the subject of love, while others who do deal with the subject of love would say that my saying that knowledge and wisdom produce love is too cold and calculating. Neither could be further from the truth. True love is not that feeling we get when we meet someone that we are attracted to and realize that we have a certain chemistry with … Read entire article »
