Today is the birthday of the celebrated 1st President of the United States: George Washington. Mr. Washington was a slave owner and lived a relatively comfortable life, largely due to the involuntary assistance of African slaves. Two and one half centuries later, we live in a mostly united America, yet still have a great divide that exists between Black America and the rest of America. Black History Month is commonly celebrated in February, and its celebration brings mixed results annually.
